
Richmond To Host The Spider At St. James

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team will host The Spider at St. James this weekend at The Reserve in Southport, North Carolina. The tournament will be the second for the Spiders this spring.
The 54-hole tournament will be played on The Reserve Course, which will play 6,175 yards long and have a par-72 setup for the event. Teams will play 36 holes on Saturday, starting with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. Teams will then play the third and final round on Sunday, beginning with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
The Spider at St. James will have 12 participating teams - Richmond, Charleston Southern, Appalachian State, Gardner Webb, Boston College, UNC Pembroke, USC Upstate, Presbyterian, Winthrop, The Citadel, Wofford, and Delaware.
On February 26-28, the Spiders started their spring season at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate, placing 25th out of the massive 33-team field. Leading Richmond from the first day to the last at the tournament was junior Caroline Lovette, who finished the KIC in a tie for 38th place with a score of 229 (+13). Lovette was consistent all three rounds for the Spiders, carding scores of 76-77-76.
