
Wo Men's Golf Heads To CAA Championship

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - The University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team will compete at the CAA Championship this weekend at the St. James Plantation in Southport, North Carolina. The 54-hole tournament gets underway on Friday, April 20 and runs through Sunday, April 22.
Live scoring for the women's golf conference championship will be available this year through CAASports.com and GolfStat.com once the tournament gets underway on Friday.
The 2011-12 season has been a successful one for the Spider women's golf team, as Richmond has had four top-10 finishes as a team in its nine tournament so far this year. The two best finishes for the team have been a second place finish at the Spider Invitational and a third place finish at the Spider Spring Invitational.
Individually, sophomore Lauren Conder has led the team with a 78.48 scoring average, two top-10 finishes, and four top-20's on the season. Junior Caroline Lovette has four top-20's on the year, while classmate Courtney Rousse has posted back-to-back top 20 finishes heading in to the CAA Championship.
At last year's conference championship, Tracy Martin finished 22nd, while Lovette and Conder tied for 23rd. As a team, the Spiders placed seventh out of the 10-team field.
