Rousse Paces Richmond on First Day at The Hoya

BEALLSVILLE, Md. - The University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team carded rounds of 322-324 to tie for fifth place after the first day at The Hoya Invitational on Monday with a score of 646 (+70). St. John's leads the 12-team field with a total of 635 (+59).
Junior Courtney Rousse led the way for the Spiders on Monday, carding rounds of 79-78 to finish the first day in sixth place with a total score of 157 (+13). Sitting just one stroke behind Rousse in a tie for seventh place is classmate Lauren Conder. Conder shot rounds of 81-77 to card a 36-hole total score of 158 (+14).
Sitting in a tie for 35th place after two rounds is junior Caroline Lovette, who finished the day with a score of 167 (+23). Classmate Tracy Martin trails Lovette by just one shot, tying for 39th with a total of 168 (+24). Rounding out Richmond's effort on the day was sophomore Danielle Pinder who is tied for 52nd with a score of 175 (+31).
Playing as individuals, sophomores Viviana Perez and Krystin Schwarze had solid starts to their tournaments. Perez is tied for 14th place after 36 holes with a score of 161 (+17), while Schwarze is tied for 57th with a total of 178 (+34).
The Richmond Spiders women's golf team will wrap up play at the Hoya Invitational on Tuesday when teams play the third and final round. Players will tee off at 9 a.m. and results will be posted as soon as they become available.
