Women's Golf Places Eighth at CAA Championship

SOUTHPORT, N.C. - The University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team wrapped up its 2011-12 season on Sunday morning at the CAA Championship, placing eighth overall with a 54-hole team total of 961 (+97). UNCW claimed the conference crown with a score of 909 (+45).
Leading the way for the Spiders at the CAA Championship was junior Caroline Lovette, who placed a team-best 24th with a three-round score of 238 (+22). The Davidsville, Pa., native played solid, consistent golf all weekend, shooting rounds of 81-77-80.
Tying for 28th place overall were teammates Courtney Rousse and Lauren Conder. Both Conder and Rousse finished the conference championship with totals of 241 (+25). On the season, Conder tied Lovette for the team lead with four top-20 finishes, while Rousse ended the year strong with top-20 finishes in two of the last three events.
Sophomore Danielle Pinder saved her best for last, shooting a final round 79 (+7) to tie for 34th with a total of 244 (+28). Rounding out Richmond's effort at the CAA Championship was junior Tracy Martin, who tied for 36th with a 54-hole score of 247 (+31).
The 2011-12 season was a successful one for the Spider women's golf team, as Richmond posted five top-10 finishes as a team in its 10 tournaments on the year. The two best finishes for the team were a second place finish at the Spider Invitational and a third place finish at the Spider Spring Invitational.
