UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. -- Becca Wann will extend her training with the Under-20 Women's National Domestic Team Training Camp in July.
Wann has been invited to continue her training with the National Team in Bradenton, Fla. from July 15-30. With the training, Wann is one step closer to being invited to join the U-20 National Team that will compete in the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Japan in August.
"Becca has worked hard this summer on her game, conditioning and skills," said head coach Peter Albright. "I know that she's committed to making the most of this opportunity. The National Team staff was impressed with Becca's quality during the last camp, and I think she has a good chance to make strong run at being selected for the World Cup Team."
Wann previously trained with the U-20 National Team in Carson, Calif. May 13-20. Wann provided an in-depth blog for RichmondSpiders.com that will continue with her second stint with the team.
Wann is one of the most decorated Spiders in program history, being tabbed an NSCAA First-Team All-American last fall. Wann was also named the A-10 Most Outstanding Player of the Year and led Richmond to its best season since 2002.
