Spiders, IMG Renew Deals With ESPN 950, 93.1 The Wolf
07/25/2012 | General
The Spider IMG Sports Network has renewed multi-year agreements with its two Richmond area radio outlets, ESPN 950 AM and 93.1 The Wolf.
ESPN 950 will continue to serve as the flagship station for Spider sports programming, carrying all football and men's basketball games and coaches' show broadcasts. Spider sports features, including segments with student-athletes, coaches and administrators, will also be heard during ESPN 950's popular morning and afternoon local sports shows. ESPN 950 will again broadcast a half-hour tailgate show from Robins Stadium an hour prior to kickoff of all home football games.
93.1 The Wolf will continue to provide the Spiders with an FM presence throughout Central Virginia, enhancing the coverage area by carrying late afternoon and night-time game broadcasts.
The deal, announced Wednesday, will keep the Spiders on ESPN 950 and 93.1 The Wolf for the next three years, through the 2014-15 season. Both stations have served as Spider radio outlets for the past six years.
In addition, the live Spider IMG Sports Network broadcasts will be available via the internet on RichmondSpiders.com, espn950am.com and 931thewolf.com. Fans will also be able to listen to Spider broadcasts on mobile devices via the Spider Mobile premium app available on iPhone, iPad and Android.
IMG, in partnership with the University of Richmond Athletics Department, is the rights holder for Spider broadcasts. IMG College is the leader in collegiate marketing, licensing and media rights. Carolyn Center, a former Spider women's basketball student-athlete, was recently named General Manager for Spider IMG Sports Marketing.
