UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - University of Richmond Spiders head men's golf coach Adam Decker released the 2012 fall schedule on Tuesday. The slate includes four tournaments in total, including a trip to Ireland to play in the Waterville Collegiate.
"We have a nice mix of events lined up this fall - highlighted by our first trip overseas," Decker remarked. "The guys are excited to get an international experience and see what travel abroad is like. Competitively, we will see a strong line up of teams from Big 10 to ACC to Atlantic 10 conferences among others. The team is experienced and I am excited to get them back to campus as a group and compete."
The Spiders will get their 2012-13 season underway on September 10-11 when they will travel to Huntington, West Virginia to play in the Marshall Invitational at the Guyan Country Club. Richmond started last season at the Marshall Invitational, placing seventh.
After nearly two weeks off, the Spiders will return to action at the VCU Shootout. The two-day tournament that runs from September 24-25 will be held at the Hermitage Country Club in Manakin-Sabot, Virginia.
The highlight of the fall schedule for the Spiders will be its trip to Ireland. During the six-day trip, Richmond will play in the Waterville Collegiate, held at the Waterville Golf Links from October 15-16.
The fourth and final tournament of the fall for Richmond will be the ODU/OBX Intercollegiate on October 21-23. The three-day tournament will be held at the Kilmarlich Golf Club in Powells Point, North Carolina.
