Wo Men's Golf Places Fourth At CAA Championship

SOUTHPORT, N.C. – The University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team concluded play at the CAA Championship this afternoon, placing fourth overall out of nine teams. James Madison claimed the conference title with a score of 942 (+78).
Headlining the Spiders effort at the CAA Championship this weekend was senior Tracy Martin, who placed in a tie for fifth place with a score of 238 (+22). The top-10 finish was the seventh for Martin this season.
Classmate Caroline Lovette placed in a tie for 11th place overall at the conference championship, shooting a 54-hole total of 243 (+27). The top-20 finish for Lovette was her seventh this year.
Senior Courtney Rousse also earned a top-20 finish – her third of the season – placing in a tie for 13th place with a total of 244 (+28).
Sophomore Eliza Breed rounded out a quartet of top-20 finishers for the Spiders, tying for 17th with a total of 245 (+29). Junior Lauren Conder tied for 24th place overall, shooting a three-round total of 247 (+31).
Sunday's round at the CAA Championship brought a close to the best Richmond Spiders women's golf regular season in school history. This season, the team won two events for the first time in program history, winning both the Wendy's Invitational and the Pinehurst Challenge.
On the year, the Spiders placed in the top-five in six of their 10 tournaments and finished in the top-10 an impressive eight times.
