RICHMOND, Va. – After earning medalist honors and helping the University of Richmond Spiders women's golf team win the Pinehurst Challenge this week, senior Caroline Lovette was named the CAA Golfer of the Week on Wednesday, the league office announced. The honor is the second this season for Lovette.
Carding rounds of 76-71-72, Lovette won the second tournament of her career with an overall total of 219 (+3). The Davidsville, Pa. native's 54-hole score is the third best all-time in program history.
“Caroline practiced a lot this winter in freezing temperatures,” Richmond head coach Maggie Will said of Lovette following the win. “It's what you have to do to make it happen and I'm really happy to see the work pay off.”
Lovette and the Richmond Spiders women's golf team will be back on the course this weekend when the team heads south to Wallace, N.C. to play in the UNCW Seahawk Classic on Saturday and Sunday.
