Daniel Walker Begins Play At NCAA Regional

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – University of Richmond Spiders senior men's golfer Daniel Walker began play at the NCAA Regional in Tallahassee, Fla. on Thursday at the Golden Eagle Golf and Country Club.
After 18 holes, Walkers sits in a tie for sixth place after carding a first round score of 68 (-4). Walker sits just three strokes behind leader M.J. Maguire of North Florida.
After shooting an score of 36 (E) on the front nine, Walker made his move on the back. After a birdie on No. 14, Walker eagled the 527-yard par 5 15th hole. The senior then birdied No. 18 to finish his round -4 on the last five holes.
"It was a very good first round for Daniel today," Richmond Spider head coach Adam Decker said. "He stayed patient and he was very steady and rolled it well on the greens. He has two rounds to play and just needs to take it one step at a time - and continue to give himself looks at birdies."
