Richmond's Colin McDade Wins Westchester Amateur

WESTCHESTER, Conn. – University of Richmond Spiders rising junior golfer Colin McDade won The 94th Westchester Golf Association Amateur Championship on Wednesday.
“Great to see Colin play so well to start the summer,” Richmond head coach Adam Decker said. “Colin ended the season on a high note at the A-10 Championship and it looks like he's continued his great play headed in to the summer.”
After earning the No. 1 seed in the match-play tournament by winning the qualifying tournament, McDade began his way to the title by defeating the No. 32 seed Jason Denker before taking down the No. 17 seed Al Tenembaum on June 3.
McDade then earned a spot in the tournament championship with wins over the No. 25 seed Kamaiu Johnson and the No. 13 seed James McHugh on Tuesday.
Then on Wednesday, McDade won the 32-player Westchester Amateur in 20 holes, defeating the No. 6 seed John Moore in 20 holes.
