Decker Finishes 2nd At Virginia State Open

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. – Richmond men's golf head coach Adam Decker shot a 6-under 65 Sunday, the low score of the day, to finish second at the 2013 Virginia State Open at Independence Golf Club.
Decker, who is entering his ninth year as the head coach at Richmond, shot 1-over 72 in the first round, 2-under 69 in the second round and 1-over 72 in the third round before closing the tournament with the 6-under 65 behind six birdies.
The Long Island, N.Y. native played professional golf – including events on the PGA Tour - after earning All-American honors at Penn State.
The 2010 Atlantic 10 Coach of the Year has led the Spiders to an NCAA Regional and five tournament victories.
