Men's Golf Sweeps A-10 Weekly Awards

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond swept the first Atlantic 10 weekly golf awards of the 2013-14 season with junior Danny Pizetoski winning A-10 Golfer of the Week and freshman Keegan Hoff being named the league's Rookie of the Week.
Pizetoski won the season-opening Marshall Invitational, finishing at 6-under 207. He shot a 3-under 68 in the first round, 2-under 69 in the second round and 1-under 70 in the final round. The Davidson, N.C., native made it four-straight rounds below par with an opening round 2-under-par 70 at the VCU Shootout on his way to a 19th-place finish at 2-over 218 (70-73-75). Pizetoski has a 70.83 scoring average through two tournaments.
Playing as an individual in his first collegiate tournament, Hoff finished third among all players at the VCU Shootout at 5-under-par 211. The Charlotte, N.C., native shot a 2-under 70 in the first round, even-par 72 in the second round and 3-under 69 in the final round.
Richmond won the season-opening Marshall Invitational, finishing first out of 15 teams. The Spiders followed that up with fourth-place out of 12 teams at the VCU Shootout, finishing ahead of Maryland and Atlantic 10 rivals VCU, George Mason and George Washington.
The Spiders return to action Oct. 12-13 at the Temple University Invitational at Philmont Country Club in Philadelphia.
