Spider Spotlight: Jersey Attacker Joins In Fall
03/10/2014 | Women's Soccer
Janell Spigner, a forward from Paramus, N.J., looks to spark the Spider attack this fall. As a 2013 team captain at The Lawrenceville School, Spigner garnered First Team All MAPL honors in 2012 and 2013.
She also boasts NJSIAA All-Prep A honors in 2012 and 2013. Spigner participates on a highly successful World Class FC ECNL club team, which competes against the top-level clubs from around the country.
“Nellie is a quick and creative attacking player who will add speed and depth to our attack,” commented Head Coach Peter Albright. “In addition to, and perhaps more important than her considerable athletic skills, Nellie is a character kid.”
Spigner also runs track, participating in the 200m and 400m races. She earned a spot on the Dean's List and also holds down an internship at the local Zoo during its Australia Exhibit.
Albright marveled at how well rounded his new attacker is. “She is a hard-working, disciplined, determined over-achiever who adds to the competitive personality of this recruiting class and of our program overall.”
Janell is one of nine freshmen entering their rookie season in the fall of 2014. Check back for spotlights on more Spider Soccer newcomers coming soon.
