UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond Spiders golfer David Germann qualified for the USGA Public Links Championship next month in Newton, Kansas.
Germann qualified for the event after finishing second at a qualifying event held at The Clubs at St. James Plantation this past weekend. The rising junior carded a score of 143, surviving a 3-for-1 playoff to earn his spot at the USGA Public Links Championship.
"I'm thrilled for David,” Richmond head coach Adam Decker remarked. “Qualifying for any USGA event is fantastic. He survived a playoff to qualify - which is even more difficult. It's great to see Spiders competing well during the summer months."
The 2014 USGA Public Links Championship will be held at the Sand Creek Station Golf Course in Newton, Kansas on July 14-19.
