Richmond's Ben Wanichek Wins Atlantic 10 Rookie Of The Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Richmond freshman Ben Wanichek has been named the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Thursday.
Wanichek placed eighth overall and second on the team at the Georgetown Intercollegiate.
A native of Eugene, Ore., he shot 73-74=147 (+5) for his best tournament of his young career. It marked his first top-10 finish as a Spider.
As a team, Richmond finished in a tie for fifth overall, just one stroke behind host Georgetown.
The award was the first for Wanichek in his career, and first weekly award for the Spiders this season.
UR finishes the fall season on Nov. 1-3 at the Wendy's Invitational at Kiawah Island.
