Kuhnert Leads Women's Golf To Match Victory Over Hoyas

MIDLOTHIAN, Va. - Playing at their new home practice course of Independence Golf Club in Midlothian, Va., the Richmond Spiders defeated Georgetown by two strokes in a friendly round to open the season.
Richmond shot 318 as a team, while Georgetown shot 320.
UR's Kira Kuhnert shot a team-best 77, followed by freshman Elsa Diaz and her 78. Jessica Lydia shot 80 and Sara Diaz turned in a round of 83. Tiarra Baskerville shot an 89 to round out the Spider scorers.
Individually, Maria Pons Cano (88) and Alicia Reggiannini (90) also competed for Richmond.
The Spiders will open their tournament season on March 1 at the Edwin Watts Kiawah Island Classic on Kiawah Island, S.C.
