Spiders Bounce Back With Strong Third Round

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Every Richmond Spider improved on their second round to finish strong in the UNF Collegiate on Tuesday.
Led by Sara Diaz's final round of 73 (+1), the Spiders shot a team round of 312 (+24) to improve upon Monday's second round by 47 strokes, an average improvement of 11.75 strokes per player.
Sara Diaz finished the tournament with a 79-86-73=238 (+22) to tie for 52nd place overall. Her sister, freshman Elsa Diaz, shot 75 (+3) on Tuesday to finish just two strokes behind Sara at 83-82-75=240 (+24).
Alicia Reggiannini finished third on the squad with 83-94-89=266 (+50) and Maria Pons Cano wrapped up the scoring group at 92-97-88=277 (+61).
Jessica Lydia did not compete in Monday's second round and thus could not contribute to Richmond's team score, but she did shoot an impressive 76 (+4) on Tuesday. Kira Kuhnert competed individually and finished at 99-88-85=272 (+56).
The Spiders will next compete at the Morehead State Ocala Invitational on March 22-24 in Dunnelon, Fla.
