Spiders Tie For Eighth At Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Richmond tied for eighth at the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate, hosted by William & Mary at the Plantation Course of Kingsmill Resort in Williamsburg, Va.
UR shot a final round 317 (+29) to finish eighth out of 16 teams, directly behind Patriot League rival Boston University and Navy.
Freshman Elsa Diaz led the way, shooting a 77-74-78=229 (+13) to tied for seventh in the overall field.
Junior Jessica Lydia was just two strokes behind her after a strong finish on Tuesday. She shot 78-79-74=231 (+15) to tie for 13th overall.
Senior Sara Diaz posted her strongest round on Monday afternoon and finished at 82-77-83=242 (+26). Alicia Reggiannini rounded out the Spider top four with a scorecard of 86-93-82=261 (+45).
Tiarra Baskerville shot 93-96-94=283 (+67) on the tournament as Richmond's fifth competitor. Maria Pons Cano competed as an individual and tied for 72nd with a score of 88-89-81=258 (+42).
Richmond will take the next few weeks off before heading to Annapolis, Md. for the Patriot League Championship on April 18-19.
