Spiders Finish Strong At Kiawah

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. - Richmond shot a 320 in the final round of the Edwin Watts/Kiawah Island Classic to finish 29th overall.
Over three days, the Spiders shot 330-310-320=960 (+96) at the Oak Point and Osprey Point courses on Kiawah Island.
Freshman Elsa Diaz turned in another solid round on Tuesday with a 74 (+2) to finish 79-74-74=227 (+11) on the tournament, good for a tie for 26th place.
Junior Jessica Lydia was right behind her after shooting 75 (+3) on Tuesday, finishing 80-74-75=229 (+13) and tying for 36th place overall.
Senior Sara Diaz shot 83-77-88=248 (+32) and Maria Pons Cano shot 88-85-88=261 (+45) to round out the four Spider scorers. Alicia Reggiannini shot 89-91-83=263 (+47).
The Spiders continue play next week at the UNF Collegiate in Jacksonville, Fla.
