Each month, the University of Richmond Athletics Department recognizes a fan that exemplifies the spirit of One Richmond on social media. The One Richmond Fan of the Month is rewarded with Spider football tickets, a Spider prize pack and an exclusive profile on RichmondSpiders.com!
The One Richmond Fan of the Month for April is Eliana Purves! Here is her story:
"This photo that was originally posted from the NICU on February 14. She was three days old. We had planned on taking our older daughter to the game here at George Mason, but Eliana surprised us by coming five weeks early."
Itsy Bitsy Spider Eliana Purves was born five weeks early on February 11, 2015, just in time to cheer on the Spiders to a 7-1 finish to the regular season. After a week in the NICU, Eliana was able to head home with dad Jay (R99), mom Cindy, and big sister Kaia. Eliana is now seven weeks old, growing fast, and has a clean bill of health.
Permanently residing outside of Charlotte, North Carolina, the whole family has enjoyed a recent work assignment to the Northern Virginia area, which has allowed them to attend events in person and catch even more televised games.
