Rookie of the Year: Matthew Lowe
After ending the A-10 Championship first round in a tie for seventh, the Spiders surged into second place over the next two days for the second-straight runner-up finish.
Freshman Matthew Lowe finished second overall in the tournament and his 209 (-7) tied for fourth all-time at Richmond for best 54-hole score. His final round of -6 tied for the third-best round at UR, just a day after posting a round of -5.
Lowe was awarded the Atlantic 10 Most Outstanding Rookie award and also earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference accolades. On the season, he posted three under-par rounds and earned four Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week awards.
Senior Danny Pizetoski joined Lowe on the league's All-Conference award list. In his final tournament of a decorated Richmond career, Pizetoski shot 75-71-75=221 (+4) to tie for 21st overall. Pizetoski led Richmond with a season stroke average of 74.63.
Junior David Germann finished top-5 in the championship tournament, shooting a career-low 215 (-1) after going 69 (-3) in the first round.
The Spiders saved their best golf for last as the A-10 tournament marked UR's best finish (2nd) and best team score (867, +3) of the season.
