
Spider Men's Golf Signs Ben Wanichek

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. - Richmond men's golf has signed Ben Wanichek for next season, head coach Adam Decker announced.
A native of Eugene, Ore., Wanichek will join the Spiders after earning numerous accolades on the West Coast, competing for Sheldon High School.
"We are very excited for Ben to join us next year," Decker said. "He has a lot of talent and has competed in some very competitive tournaments. He will be prepared to make an impact in our program early on."
Wanichek is a two-time Southwest Conference Player of the Year and four-time All-Conference honoree. He was 6-A All-State twice, and posted two top-10 finishes in AJGA Junior Opens. He was twice a representative for Team Oregon in the Hogan Cup.
He led Sheldon HS to the Southwest Conference team championship twice, and competed at the state tournament all four years of high school.
Wanichek has been on his school's honor roll for the last four years, and is a member of the National Honor Society.
