Lowe Posts Best Amateur Score At Long Island Open

LOCUST VALLEY, N.Y. - Rising sophomore Matthew Lowe posted the lowest amateur score and tied for sixth overall at the 2015 Long Island Open at the Creek Club in Locust Valley, N.Y., this weekend.
Lowe shot +1 (72-68-71=211) over the tournament, holing four birdies in the final round.
A native of Farmingdale, N.Y., Lowe set a course record with a round of 63 last year in the NYC Amateur. He also won the Long Island Amateur while a junior in high school.
He had a tremendous freshman season at Richmond, finishing second overall at the Atlantic 10 Championships this May. Lowe was named the A-10 Rookie of the Year and earned All-Conference accolades after posting a -6 in the final round, tying for the third-best round in Richmond history.
