
Diaz Wins VSGA Virginia Women's Stroke Play Championship

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Rising sophomore Elsa Diaz won the VSGA Virginia Women's Stroke Play Championship on Thursday afternoon at the Two Rivers Country Club in Williamsburg, Va.
The San Antonio native shot +5 (76-71-74=221) for the tournament to win by one stroke over Amanda Hollingsworth.
Diaz carded four birdies in her final round to shoot +2 and secure the victory. On the tournament, she tallied eight birdies and went -4 on the course's par-5 holes.
Last weekend, Diaz finished ninth at the WEGA Amateur Championship in Lexington, Va. She was an All-Patriot League honoree after leading Richmond in scoring and top-10 finishes in her freshman season.
