Women's Golf Cards Third-Place Finish At Bucknell

Richmond women's golf got the season started by notching a third-place finish over the weekend at the Bucknell Invitational, placing two Spiders into the Top 10 on the final 54-hole leaderboard. The tournament was contested at the Par-70, 5,974-yard Bucknell Golf Club.
Richmond finished nine shots back of the winner Fairleigh Dickinson and six strokes behind Princeton after the final 18 holes on Sunday.
Freshman Isabella Rusher (Salisbury North Carolina) led the way with a seventh-place finish, nine shots from the medalist Gabriela Santini of FDU with a 20-over par (75-74-81 230) score. Rusher tied for the team lead with four birdies, but also carded an eagle on the par-five 499-yard 15th hole in her opening round Saturday morning.
Senior Jessica Lydia (Jakarta, Indonesia) had Richmond's second best weekend, in 10th place at 22-over (75-78-79 232).
Spider freshman Sophie DiPetrillo (Dover, Massachusetts) was just three shots behind Lydia (75-81-79 235) and in a tie for 17th.
Richmond's final pair of golfers competing in Pennsylvania, sophomore Elsa Diaz (San Antonio, Texas) and Annie Collom (Davidson, North Carolina) both finished in a five-way tie for 26th with a pair of 239 results.
The team competes next Monday and Tuesday, September 28-29 at the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina down in Greenville, North Carolina.
