Lowe Captures Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - After a successful weekend tournament in Ireland, the Spiders were honored by the Atlantic 10 as junior Matthew Lowe was named Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week.

Lowe led the Spiders to a team championship in the Waterville Intercollegiate by winning the individual medalist award with a two-round score of 71-72=143 (-1). He was five shots ahead of the second-place finisher as he won his first tournament in his Richmond career.

Lowe has yet to post any rounds over par this season as he has a stroke average of 71.75 after two tournaments.

A two-time All-Conference honoree, Lowe has now won five Atlantic 10 weekly honors in his career. Earlier this season, Spider senior Keegan Hoff won the Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week.
