
Richmond Leads After First Round In Ireland

WATERVILLE, IRELAND - The Spider men's golf team was prepared for whipping winds and frosty temperatures, but instead was greeted by a warm sunny day along the Irish coastline.
UR turned in a first-place scorecard after the first round of play at Waterville Golf Links in Waterville, Ireland. The Spiders lead A-10 rival Davidson by eight strokes, and are 11 strokes ahead of Rutgers.
Junior Matthew Lowe shot the low round of the day, coming in at one-under par 71, the 14th under-par round of his career.
Senior Mark Reilly continued his stellar play this season with a round of 73 (+1), putting him in a tie for second place overall.
Senior Keegan Hoff and freshman Zack Justice each shot 74 (+2) to round out Richmond's scoring quartet equaling 292 (+4).
Sophomore Ben Wanichek and freshman Andrew Sciarretta each shot 79 (+7), as Sciarretta competed as an individual. Senior Jason Park and freshman Tim Graham also competed as individuals with scores of 82 (+10) and 83 (+11), respectively.
Richmond will play one more round tomorrow to complete the tournament.
