
Lowe Places Seventh At Northeast Amateur Invitational

RUMFORD, R.I. - Rising junior Matthew Lowe posted an outstanding seventh-place performance at the prestigious Northeast Amateur Invitational Golf Tournament at Wannamoisett Country Club in Rumford, R.I.
Lowe shot 273 (-3) for the four-round tournament that played at a par 69. He had rounds of 71-64-67-71, totaling 13 birdies and one eagle.
The native of Farmingdale, N.Y., finished in a tie for seventh place among the 90-player field, meticulously selected among some of the best amateurs in the country. Invites were selected based on competitive record in major events and World Amateur Ranking.
The tournament is considered "No. 4" among all U.S. amateur golf events as ranked by the R&A World Amateur Ranking List. The tournament began in 1962, and past champions include Dustin Johnson, Anthony Kim, Luke Donald, David Duval and Ben Crenshaw.
