Lowe, Justice, Freshman Fuller Lead Fierce Comeback in Final Round at Autotrader Intercollegiate

DULUTH, Ga. – The University of Richmond men's golf team posted its best collective round of the season when it needed it most, in the final round of the Autotrader Intercollegiate at Berkeley Hill C.C. The Spiders fired a -2, 286 to jump four spots in the standings and finish 11th overall in a stacked field.
Richmond's third round, 286 was the best score of any team in the field on the final day, including champion Georgia Southern. Senior Matthew Lowe led the group by firing a -3, 69 which was followed up by even par, 72's from Zack Justice and Ben Wanichek. Freshman Stuart Fuller, who was playing in his first event as a Spider, rolled out a final round 73 to compete the scoring for Richmond.
Lowe accumulated a score of +4, 220 (76-75-69) for the duration of the event, which was good enough to finish in a tie for 19th overall – his second top-20 of the season. Justice (79-74-72) and Fuller (74-78-73) both finished with a score of +9, 225 and in a tie for 45th while Wanichek (79-78-72) clocked in with a +13, 229 for a tie at 66th.
The Spiders against, in addition to Georgia Southern (-17), the likes of Georgia State (+7), Notre Dame (+9), Mississippi State (+13), Lipscomb (+14), Kansas (+17), Augusta (+19), Boston College (+23), Chattanooga (+25), UNC-Greensboro (+25), Francis Marion (+36), Bowling Green (+40), Davidson (+41), Winthrop (+42) and Yale (DQ).
The next competition comes for Richmond this weekend when it goes head-to-head with Yale at Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills Md.
