Corbosiero Wins ECAC Championship

BRONX, N.Y. -- With a career-best time of 17:51.5, Amanda Corbosiero won the ECAC Championship on Saturday morning, leading the Spiders to a second place finish. Corbosiero, who becomes the first-ever Spider cross country champion, crossed the line two-seconds ahead of James Madison's Carol Strock. Richmond, who scored 73 points, finished just behind in-state foe, James Madison (60 points) for the championship title.
The ECAC/IC4AÂ Championship marks the end of the 2017 cross country schedule. The Spiders will open the track and field season on Saturday, December 9 at the Christopher Newport Invitational.Â

The Spiders' second-place/runner-up ECAC team finish is the best in program history in any sport.The top-six Spider finishers (Corbosiero, Carney, Regan, Grosenheider, Mills and Brown) earned All-ECAC honors.
Colleen Carney crossed the line just behind Corbosiero in sixth place with a time of 18:04.2. Kylie Regan (18:23.7), Ave Grosenheider (18:23.9) and Eryn Mills (18:27.9) finished in a pack to log top-25 finishes. Claire Brown finished in 35th place with a time of 18:38.7 with Jordan Angers turning in a time of 19:11.8.The ECAC/IC4AÂ Championship marks the end of the 2017 cross country schedule. The Spiders will open the track and field season on Saturday, December 9 at the Christopher Newport Invitational.Â
On the men's side, Johnny Hogue had an strong race finishing in 25:47 to finish 16th in the men IC4A Championship. He earned All-IC4A honors, and is the first Spider in program history to compete in the IC4A Cross Country Championships and the first to earn All-IC4A.Â
