
Spiders Set to Host 12th Annual Fred Hardy Invitational

UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond track and field program will host the annual Fred Hardy Invitational this weekend at Fred Hardy Track within the confines of Robins Stadium. The event will begin under the lights on Friday night (Mar. 24) and continue all day Saturday (Mar. 25).
This will be the 12th year of the Fred Hardy Invitational named after the legendary Richmond Track & Field coach.
The 2017 edition of this event will welcome over 700 student-athletes from 18 different institutions. Events on Friday will begin with field events at Noon and continue into the night with the first track event at 5 p.m.; the women's 3000M Steeplechase. Events will conclude on Friday with the 10,000M, which is set to begin at approximately 7:35 p.m.
Saturday's action picks up at 11 a.m. with the 100M trials for the women and continues until the 4x400M relay at approximately 3:45 p.m. Fans will be able to find Spiders scattered throughout just about every event.
