
Men's Golf Set for 2017 Atlantic 10 Championship

ORLANDO, Fla. – The University of Richmond men's golf team begins its quest for its first Atlantic 10 Championship on Friday when five Spiders take to the course looking to build on three-straight second place finishes in this event.
The A-10 Golf Championship features 11 teams and will be contested on the New Course at Grand Cypress. The New Course is Jack Nicklaus' tribute and homage to the famed Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland. This Scottish-links masterpiece is complete with double greens, stone bridges and walls, gorse mounds, burns and pot bunkers as deep as 12 feet.
The three-day, 54-hole event will tee off at 7:30 a.m. on Friday with teams playing one round each day. The first Spider will tee off at 8:15 a.m.
The Atlantic 10 Champion will receive the League's automatic berth to the NCAA Men's Golf Regionals. The NCAA Regionals will be held May 15-17 at sites in Murfreesboro, Tenn., West Lafayette, Ind., Stanford, Cal., Austin, Texas, Baton Rouge, Lou., and Auburn, Wash.
The Spiders will be playing Friday alongside competitors from La Salle and George Mason. Richmond tee times are as follows:
