Andrew Sciarretta Named Atlantic 10 Golfer of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - University of Richmond men's golf sophomore Andrew Scriarretta has been honored as Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week on the strength of his Even par finish at the Mobile Intercollegiate back in February. The first Atlantic 10 men's golf weekly awards of the spring season include any events played in 2018 to this point.
Despite playing out of the No. 5 spot, Andrew Sciarretta's star shone brightest that week. He posted an Even par 216 and did so by improving his score with each passing round. He began the week with a +2, 74 then followed that up with a +1, 73 before closing with a -3, 69, marking the fifth under-par round from a Spider this season. His score was good enough to finish in a tie for 12th overall in the field of 80.
Andrew helped guide his team to a seventh-place finish at the event. Next up for Richmond is the Seahawk Intercollegiate, which begins this Sunday with 36 holes at the Country Club of Landfall in Wilmington, N.C. and will wrap up on Monday.Â
