Spiders Improve in Round Two of NCAA Regionals

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of Richmond women's golf team improved en masse on Tuesday during the second round of NCAA Regionals at the Seminole Golf Club. Led by Annie Collom, who dropped five strokes off her round one score, the Spiders improved by 13 strokes to move up to 17th overall.
Collom posted a +1, 73, bolstered by a trio of birdies which were tied for the most among her teammates on Tuesday. That 73 was just one stroke shy of matching a season-low score for the junior and two strokes short of a career-best performance. Her score also represents her lowest at NCAA Regionals in eight career rounds.
Matching Collom's birdie count was Isabella Rusher who ultimately fired a +6, 78, improving on her round one score. Sophie DiPetrillo bagged back-to-back birdies on holes one and two, her 10th and 11th holes of the day en route to a +3, 75 all while senior Elsa Diaz shook off a trio of bogeys to start her round to closed Even Par the rest of the day to finish +3, 75 as well.
The Spiders wrap up NCAA Regionals on Wednesday. Lizzie Reedy (80-80, 160) will tee it up at 9:50 a.m. followed by Rusher (10:00), Diaz (10:10), DiPetrillo (10:20) and Collom (10:30).
