Teddy Hatfield Named SoCon Offensive Player of the Week

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond senior attack Teddy Hatfield (Summit, N.J.) has been named the Southern Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. This marks just the second time in Hatfield's illustrious career that he has earned a SoCon weekly honor and the third Spider this season to earn the award (Ryan Lanchbury & Sean Menges).
Hatfield led the Spiders to their fifth SoCon win of the season as they secured a berth into the SoCon Tournament with a 15-9 victory over Mercer. Hatfield score a game-high seven points in the victory, notching a team-high four goals and three assists. His performance raises his season total to a team-leading 59 points, including 31 goals and 28 assists.
Hatfield's 28 assists set a new Richmond single-season record, surpassing his previous career-best of 26 assists set in 2017. He also raised his point total to 59, which ties his own Richmond record set in 2017. Hatfield is the all-time leader in both Richmond and SoCon scoring history in points (213), goals (118) and assists (95).
Hatfield and the Spiders close out the regular season Saturday afternoon when they travel to No. 14 High Point. Game time is set for noon and will play a pivotal role in the SoCon Tournament seeding.
