Women's Lacrosse Rookie Class Ranked No. 10 Nationally, Trio Named To Power 100
The University of Richmond women's lacrosse freshman class is already making an impact before stepping foot on the competition field.
The Spiders' Class of 2023 has been ranked the No. 10 incoming freshman class in the nation by IL Women, joining come of the NCAA's top lacrosse powers in the Top 10 incoming class list.
Additionally, newcomers Sophia DiCenso, Arden Tierney and Lindsey Frank (not pictured) have all been named to IL Women's Power 100 Incoming Freshman list. DiCenso is ranked No. 6, Tierney No. 27, and Frank has earned a spot on the Watchlist.
The 11-member freshman class boasts a pair of Under Armour All-American North South All Stars, as well as eight 2019 US Lacrosse All-Americans.
DiCenso has earned valuable experience as a member of the US Lacrosse Women's U19 National Team, taking home the gold medal at the 2019 U19 World Lacrosse Championship. The Foxboro native is a two-time US Lacrosse All-American, and competed this past spring in the 2019 Under Armour Senior All-America Game.
Tierney also competed at the 2019 Senior All-America Game while earning 2018 and 2019 US Lacrosse All-America honors. The attacker was also named a 2019 US Lacrosse Academic All-American, and earned NSCHSGAA "AA" Player of the Year, Newsday First Team All-Long Island and NYS Sportswriters Association Girls Lacrosse All-State Team honors in 2018.
Frank, who is currently competing with the University of Richmond field hockey team, is a dual sport athlete and will look to make an impact with the Spiders in the 2020 season. A two-time US Lacrosse All-American, Frank earned 2019 Times Union Female Athlete of the Year honors for her performance in lacrosse and field hockey.
