Football Game At Yale Cancelled Oct. 17, Season Opener Date Changed

RICHMOND, Va. – Earlier today, the Ivy League announced the cancellation of fall sports seasons. With that announcement, the Richmond football game scheduled October 17 against Ivy League member Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut has been cancelled for the 2020 season.
"We respect the Ivy League's decision as we continue to assess the COVID -19 situation closely," Vice President and Director of Athletics John Hardt said. "We are in regular communication with our FCS peers as we continue to monitor conditions surrounding COVID-19. However, at this time, we have not added another opponent to our schedule, and we are keeping our options open."
Additionally, Richmond and Saint Francis have mutually agreed to move the date of the season opener back from Thursday, September 3 at 7 p.m. to Saturday, September 5 at Robins Stadium at 1 p.m.
