
Spider Football Celebrates Senior Day Saturday

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond football program will honor its 2021 senior class Saturday afternoon prior to the final home game of the regular season against Delaware. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. at Robins Stadium and Senior Day festivities will begin approximately at 1:40 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to help celebrate the 22 Spiders being honored on Senior Day.

Noah Nicholson
Defensive Back • Olney, Md.
- Will graduate in December with a degree in political science.
- Played in 31 games in his Spider career.
- Made 13 starts at cornerback in his career.
- Posted 74 career tackles and 7 pass breakups.
Jonathan Johnson
Wide Receiver • Baltimore, Md.
- Will earn his graduate certificate in Human Resource Management in the spring.
- Transferred in from East Carolina for the 2021 season.
- Played in seven games, including five starts.
- Caught 11 passes for 124 yards this year.


Joe Mancuso
Quarterback • Blairsville, Ga.
- Will earn his graduate certificate in Human Resource Management in the spring.
- Played in 42 games in his career, making 24 starts.
- Passed for 5,329 yards and 36 touchdowns in his career.
- Accounted for 6,751 yards of total offense and 53 touchdowns.
Darius Reynolds
Defensive Line • Yorktown, Va.
- Will graduate with a Master's degree in Human Resource Management in December.
- Played in 43 games, including 25 starts in his career.
- Recorded 105 tackles and 18.5 sacks in his career.
- Set the single-game sack record with 4.5 last weekend against Towson.


Braxton Hughes
Quarterback • Kill Devil Hills, N.C.
- Will graduate with a degree in Latin American, Latino and Iberian Studies in the spring. Holding two minors in Anthropology and Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies.
- Played in six-straight games this season.
- Took over the Spiders' holding duties this year.
Justin Jasper
Wide Receiver • Mechanicsville, Va.
- Will graduate in the spring with a degree in Business Administration.
- Played in 29 career games, including 10 starts in his career.
- Caught 28 passes for 357 yards and two touchdowns in career.
- Recorded 10 catches for 86 yards this year.


Isaac Brown
Wide Receiver • Winchester, Va.
- Will graduate in the spring with a degree in Sociology.
- Played in 26 games, including 21 starts in career before injury this year.
- Posted 59 catches for 648 yards and five scores in his career.
- Recorded 17 catches for 231 yards this season prior to injury.
A.J. Smith
Defensive Back • Virginia Beach, Va.
- Will graduate in the spring with a Master's in Liberal Arts.
- Transferred in from VMI for the 2021 season.
- Played and started all nine games this season.
- Fourth on team with 46 tackles, including 28 solo tackles.


Nile Harris
Defensive Back • Greensboro, N.C.
- Will graduate in the spring with a degree in Healthcare Studies.
- Played in 29 career games, including 14 starts in his career.
- Recorded 54 tackles in his career and five pass breakups.
- Tallied 12 tackles this season.
Tyler Dressler
Linebacker • Covington, Va.
- Graduated with a degree in Healthcare Studies and will graduate with a Master's degree in Human Resource Management in the spring.
- Played in 41 career games, including 23 start.
- Recorded 230 career tackles and 25.0 tackles for loss.
- Second on the team with 73 tackles in nine games.


Kevin Laughlin
Long Snapper • Shrewsbury, N.J.
- Will graduate in December with a degree in Business Administration.
- Played in 36-straight games in career.
- Spiders' primary long snapper for the past three seasons.
- Recorded five tackles on special teams in his career.
Clayton McConnell
Offensive Line • Foley, Ala.
- Will graduate in December with a degree in Business Administration.
- Played in 35 games in his career, including 34 starts at center.
- Has made 30-straight starts entering Senior Day.
- All-Conference selection in spring season.


Jack Bowler
Offensive Line • Raleigh, N.C.
- Will earn his MBA from the Robins School of Business in 2023.
- Transferred in from Holy Cross for the 2021 season.
- Played in all nine games this year, including one start.
Tim Coleman
Offensive Line • Stone Mountain, Ga.
- Will graduate in December with a Master's degree in Human Resource Management.
- Played in 35 games and has made 35 starts as a Spider.
- Only missed one game in his UR career.
- Transferred in from Furman and has played in 46 career games total.


Seyoum Settepani
Offensive Line • Harlem, N.Y.
- Graduated in 2020 with a degree in Political Science. Will graduate in December with a Master's degree in Human Resource Management.
- Played in 25 games in his career, making 25 starts on the offensive line.
- Missed most of the 2021 season due to injury and all of the 2021 spring season.
Tazle Sumpter
Offensive Line • Richmond, Va.
- Graduated in 2020 with a degree in Business Administration. Will earn his Master's degree in Human Resource Management in December.
- Played in 30 career games for the Spiders.
- Made 20 career starts on offensive line.
- Missed the 2021 spring season due to an injury.


Liam Simpson
Wide Receiver • Richmond, Va.
- Will graduate in the spring with a degree in Healthcare Studies.
- Played in 13 games in his career.
- Played in all nine games this season on special teams.
John Fitzgerald
Tight End • Baltimore, Md.
- Will earn his Master's in Business Administration in the spring.
- Transferred from Cornell prior to Spring 2021 season.
- Named First Team All-CAA in the spring after leading all tight ends in the conference in receptions, yards and touchdowns.
- Missed 2021 season due to an injury.


Colby Ritten
Defensive Line • Orlando, Fla.
- Will graduate in December with a degree in Political Science.
- Played and started in 34-straight games prior to this season.
- Missed the 2021 season due to an injury.
- Recorded 147 tackles and 24.5 tackles for loss in his career.
Caleb Brooks
Defensive Line • Clifton, Va.
- Will graduate in December with a degree in Computer Science.
- Played in 28 games on the defensive line.
- Made 10 starts in the spring and fall 2021 seasons.
- Posted 18 tackles, 3.0 tackles for loss and a sack this fall.


Will Ahrens
Defensive Line • New Canaan, Conn.
- Graduated with a degree in History. Will earn his Master's degree in teaching next summer.
- Three-year member of the Spider Football program as a walk-on.
- Made his first career appearance this season in the game against Lehigh.
Kobie Turner
Defensive Line • Clifton, Va.
- Will graduate in December with a dual degree in both mathematics and music.
- Played in 35 career games, including 25 straight starts.
- Two-time All-Conference and All-America selection.
- Named CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Year in the spring.
- Recorded 147 tackles, including 32.5 for loss.
