Black History Month Spider Spotlight - Jasmine Forte, M.D.

RICHMOND, Va. – In honor of Black History Month, the University of Richmond athletics department will be conducting interviews with former Spiders from the Black community during the month of February in a new series called, Black History Month Spider Spotlight.
Former track and field student-athlete Jasmine Forte, M.D., joins Jaide Hinds-Clarke in this week's installment. Forte is currently a pediatric neurologist at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. She is also an assistant professor at Emory University School of Medicine, where she did her child neurology residency. She graduated from the Meharry Medical College with a Doctor of Medicine in 2014.
Forte graduated from the University of Richmond Cum Laude in Psychology in 2010. She was a sprinter on the women's track and field program. She competed in the 200-meter and 400-meter races while also was part of the Spiders 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams. She earned 2010 Atlantic 10 Indoor Track & Field All-Conference honors in the Distance Medley Relay where she ran the 400M leg helping the team claim silver in the event. In 2008 she won the 400M and the 200M at the Blue & Silver Challenge in Newport News, VA . Additionally, she also won the 200M in the 2007 Mid-Atlantic Track Clash in Richmond.
