Divers Compete at the Duke Dog Diving Invite

HARRISONBURG, Va. – The three Spider divers got their season started Saturday afternoon at the Duke Dog Diving Invitational, hosted by James Madison. The Diving trio of Alex Beran (Basking Ridge, Md.), Emma Yeakley (Cornelius, N.C.) and Zazi Halla (McLean, Va.) got to dive in and compete against divers from George Mason, George Washington, Towson and the host, James Madison.
In the 3-meter preliminary round, Halla was the Spiders top scorer. She earned a score of 260.85 to take sixth and qualify for the finals. She took eighth in the finals, with a 242.10 score. Yeakley finished 11th in the 3-meter event, scoring 229.90. Beran earned a score of 195.90 to take 16th.
Beran took the top Spider spot in the 1-meter event. She tallied a score of 240.45 to take seventh and advance to the finals where she also took seventh with a finals score of 226.60. Yeakley finished 13th at 220.75 in the prelims, with Halla taking 13th at 220.75.
The divers, along with the swimmers are back in action on March 6th as they had back to Harrisonburg for a meet with the Dukes.
