Robins Stadium Attendance Policy For Upcoming Spring Season
03/01/2021 | Football, General, Men's Lacrosse, Women's Lacrosse
RICHMOND, Va. – In response to the amended Executive Order 72 from the Governor's Office last week, the University of Richmond athletics department is implementing a new attendance policy for Spider football and men's and women's lacrosse at Robins Stadium this spring. The Governor's order limits outdoor attendance at the lesser of 30% capacity or 1,000 fans. Stadium health and safety protocols must allow for adequate physical distancing in seating areas as well as during ingress and egress.
Attendance at Spider baseball, field hockey and soccer is still limited to Richmond student-athlete and coach guests only due to the 30% rule.
A maximum of 1,000 fans may be able to attend the three Spider football games this spring against William & Mary (March 6), Elon (March 27) and James Madison (April 3). Robins Stadium will also be able to host up to 1,000 fans beginning March 7 vs. Duke for men's lacrosse and March 28 vs. VCU in women's lacrosse.
"We are excited to be able to accommodate a limited number of fans to our home games at Robins Stadium this spring," said Vice President and Director of Athletics John P. Hardt. "After the latest executive order from the Governor's Office, we were able to work with University administration to develop a plan that will allow fans to attend games while implementing the appropriate health and safety protocols to keep our campus community safe."
Robins Stadium will have extensive COVID-10 protocols in place, including adequate physical distancing and requiring guests to wear masks at all times to ensure the University of Richmond campus community remains a safe environment. Initially, the East Concourse stands will be limited to only University of Richmond faculty, staff and students and the West Concourse stands will be designated for attendees who are not employees or students of the University. All attendees will be required to sit in their designated seat location. Prior to each game, updated COVID-19 protocols will be sent directly to all guests attending at Robins Stadium football or lacrosse game.
For Spider football, Spider athletics has initiated a plan to provide a limited number of tickets for the following groups: Richmond football student-athlete and coaches' guests, visiting team guests (player pass list only), University of Richmond students, faculty and staff and 2019 season ticket holders. Members of each group will be directly contacted via email by the Spiders athletics department with more detailed information soon.
Due to the limited number of tickets, general public ticket sales are not available for this football season. For 2019 season ticket holders, tickets will be based upon availability on a single game basis only and are not guaranteed. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. the Wednesday prior to each home game and be available while supplies last.
For all games at Robins Stadium this season, parking will be free and a parking pass will not be required. All parking will be on a first come, first serve basis. Lots will open one hour prior to kick-off and no tailgating or picnicking will be permitted. Upon arrival, fans/guests should promptly enter Robins Stadium and following the conclusion of the game immediately exit Robins Stadium and depart campus.
