Fazio Turns in Strong Showing at NCAA Indoor Championship

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – At the 2021 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championship, University of Richmond senior Brooke Fazio finished fifth in the second heat of the 800-meters semi-finals Friday night at the Randal Tyson Track Center on the University of Arkansas campus.
Her time of 2:07.62 placed her 10th overall, just missing the cut to qualify for the finals.
The top three finishers in each heat, plus the next two top times advance to the finals of the 800-meters.
In her opening 200 meters, Fazio posted a time of 28.62, following with a split of 31.57 in the next 200 meters for a time of 1:00.19 in the opening 400m. She ran the third 200 meters in 34.33 while closing out the final 200m in 33.11.
Fazio is the first Spider in program history to qualify for the NCAA Indoor Championship in the same event twice.
