RICHMOND, Va. – In response to the Fourth Amended Executive Order 72 from the Governor's Office on March 23, the University of Richmond athletics department will be permitted to increase fan attendance starting April 1 for Spider football and men's and women's lacrosse at Robins Stadium for the remainder of the spring seasons. The Governor's order allows a maximum outdoor attendance at 30% capacity, which will result in a slight increase from the 1,000 fan limit.
This increase in attendance at Robins Stadium will take effect for the final regular season football game on April 3 vs. James Madison, men's lacrosse on April 17 vs. Jacksonville and women's lacrosse on April 4 vs. George Mason.
Robins Stadium will continue to have extensive COVID-19 protocols in place, including 6 ft. of physical distancing between fan seating. The continued 6 ft. of physical distance between fan seating will result in only a slight increase from the 1,000 fan limit. The East Concourse stands will also continue to be limited to only University of Richmond faculty, staff and students. The West Concourse stands will continue to be attendees who are not employees or students of the University. All guests will be required to sit in their designated seat location and to wear face coverings at all times to ensure the University of Richmond campus community remains a safe environment. Prior to each game, updated COVID-19 protocols will be sent directly to all guests attending at Robins Stadium football or lacrosse games.
For the final regular season football game vs. JMU, Spider athletics will continue to provide a limited number of tickets for the following groups: Richmond football student-athlete and coaches' guests, visiting team guests (player pass list only), University of Richmond students, faculty and staff and 2019 season ticket holders. Due to the limited number of tickets, general public ticket sales will not be available. For 2019 season ticket holders, tickets will be based upon availability and are not guaranteed. Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. the Wednesday prior to the April 3rd JMU game and be available while supplies last.
For all games at Robins Stadium this season, parking will be free and a parking pass will not be required. All parking will be on a first come, first serve basis. Lots will open one hour prior to game time and no tailgating or picnicking will be permitted. Upon arrival, fans/guests should promptly enter Robins Stadium and following the conclusion of the game immediately exit Robins Stadium and depart campus.
Spider men's and women's lacrosse will continue to provide a limited number of tickets for the following groups: Richmond lacrosse student-athlete and coach guests, visiting team guests (player pass list only), University of Richmond students, faculty and staff and general public.
Fan attendance for baseball at Pitt Field, women's soccer at President's Field and field hockey at Crenshaw Field will not change because of facility limitations and physical distancing requirements. Fan attendance at these venues will be limited to Richmond team guests only.
