Women’s Track Heads to Charlottesville for the Virginia Challenge

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's track and field team will head to Charlottesville to compete at the Virginia Challenge, Friday and Saturday at Lannigan Field.

The Spiders will send 11 student-athletes to compete against schools from the Atlantic 10, BIG East, Southeastern, Big 12, Mid-American, Colonial Athletics, Mountain West, Patriot League, Conference USA and America East conferences.
Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week Brooke Fazio (Basking Ridge, N.J.), A10 Rookie of the Week Kayla O'Connell (Marshfield, Mass.), and Maria Acosta (Maywood, N.J.) will all compete in the 800m race as well as the 4x400m. Rachel Helbling (McDonald, Pa.) will complete the 4x400m relay team and race in the 400m.
Tamar Accius (Jacksonville, Fla.) will represent the Spiders in the 100m, 200m, and the 4x100m. Kayla Woods (Wilmington, Del.) is set to also compete in the 200m and 4x100m, as well as the long jump.
Rounding out the 4x100m relay team will be Tania Matthews (North Chesterfield, Va.) and Kamryn Ross (Richmond, Va.). Both will also compete in the 100m hurdles for the Spiders.
Caroline Robelen (Glen Allen, Va.), Elizabeth Stockman (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and Madison Trippett (Parkersburg, W.Va.) will line up for the 5K.
Representing the men's cross country team, Trey Burleson (Moseley, Va.) will compete in the 1,500m. Peter Borger (Malvern, Pa.) and Noah Yuro (Howell, N.J.) will line up for the 5K while Noah Campbell (Montpelier, Va.) will race in the 10k.
