Women’s Track Heads to JMU Invitational

RICHMOND, Va. – The University of Richmond women's track and field will send a group to Harrisonburg, to compete in the JMU Invitational Saturday, April 17 at Sentara Park.

The Spiders will have 10 student-athletes competing against Atlantic 10 foes VCU and George Mason as well as in-state rivals Radford, William & Mary, Elon and host James Madison.
Oona Elovaara (Richmond, Va.) and Zenia Vrakas (Pefka, Thessaloniki, Greece) are set to compete in the 100-meter hurdles. Lining up for the 400-meter hurdles will be Gabrielle Beneducci (Hampton, N.J.) and Amaya Jackson (Richmond, Va.).
Grace Mittl (Bethlehem, Pa.) will participate in the long jump and the 200m for the Spiders. Joining her in the long jump competition will be Rebekah Greene (Henrico, Va.). Maddie Orr (Rumson, N.J.) will line up for the 200m and 400m.
In distance events, Kate McAndrew (Denville, N.J.) and Kendra Smither (Richmond, Va.) are set for the 800m while Julia Wilcox (Skaneateles, N.Y.) will race in the 1500m.
Richmond's men's cross country team will also send nine student-athletes to compete Saturday. Jake Schindel (Richmond, Va.) and William Tune (Richmond, Va.) will go in the 800m while Tanner Crochet (Monmouth, N.J.) will race in the 3k.
In the 5k, Jordan Bendura (Glen Allen, Va.), Sean Doolan (Loundonville, K.Y.), Robert Gunia (Fredericksburg, Va.), James Quinn (Nutley, N.J.) and Patrick Sutphin (Mechanicsville, Va.) will all compete for the Spiders.
