
Spiders Tied for 11th After Day 1 at Irish Creek Collegiate

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. -- The Richmond Spiders men's golf team is tied for 11th in the field of 15 through two rounds at the Irish Creek Collegiate. Richmond carded a team score of 591 (+23) on Friday at the Irish Creek Club, tied with UNCG and Charlotte.Â
Sophomore Lou Baker, coming off a runner-up finish at the Golden Horsehoe Collegiate earlier this week, led the Spiders on Friday. Baker shot rounds of 73 and 70 and is tied for ninth in the field at the 143 (+1). Sophomore Ben Cooper is tied for 30th at 147 (+5), while senior MIchael Baker is also in the top 50 at 149 (+7), tied for 42nd in the field.Â
Saturday's final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 AM.Â
