Fazio, Ross, 4x400 Collects Va-SID All-State Second Team Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – University of Richmond women's track and field student athletes Brooke Fazio (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Kamryn Ross (Richmond) as well as the 4x400 relay team of Maddie Orr (Rumson, N.J.), Rachel Helbling (McDonald, Pa.), Kayla O'Connell (Marshfield, Mass.) and Fazio were recognized as Virginia Association of Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Indoor Women's Track and Field All-State Second Team honorees Thursday.
Fazio, a two-time US Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Indoor All-American, finished 10th overall in the 800m at the NCAA Indoor Championships in March with a time of 2:07.62. She qualified for the NCAA Championships with a flat track converted time of 2:04.27, eighth-best in the NCAA, at the GMU Winter Fiesta. This is her second VaSID Indoor Track honor for the 800m.
Ross took third in the 60-meter hurdles to capture the third best time in the Atlantic 10, 8.73, at NSU Invite (Feb. 12-13) finishing second in the event, after qualifying with a time of 9.04 in the prelims.
Orr, Helbling, O'Connell and Fazio teamed up to win the 4x400m relay with an A-10-best time of 3:49.15 at the Kenneth Guiles Norfolk State Invitational.
