Spiders Cross Country Wraps Season at NCAA Southeast Regionals

Louisville, Ky.— The University of Richmond cross country teams concluded their seasons Friday at the NCAA Southeast Regionals hosted by the University of Louisville at E.P. Tom Sawyer Park. The women finished 17th of 32 teams in the 6K race while the men came in at 22nd of 32 teams in the 10K.
Coming off all-conference performances at the Atlantic-10 Championships two weeks ago, Madison Trippett and Laurel Kurtz led the Spiders once again. Trippett finished 90th with a 22:06.6 and Kurtz crossed at 95th for a 22:12.9 clocking. Elizabeth Stockman was next to finish, coming in at 105th for a time of 22:21.9, while Anna George (120th, 22:43.6), Isabel Blaylock (139th, 22:56.7), Kyra Keurentjes (185th, 24:02.5) and Brooke Reif (213th, 25:14.1) followed.
For the men, Peter Borger finished with a time of 31:38.0 for an 81st-pace finish to lead the Spiders. Jordan Bendura was next to cross at 32:38.3 for 125th and Henry Haase followed close with a 32:43.9 for 128th. From there, Robert Gunia (134th, 32:50.0), Riley Fletcher (146th, 33:16.8), Tanner Crochet (162nd, 33:42.9) and Jake Schindel (174th, 33:55.7) rounded out Spider performances.
The team's now focus their attention to the oval and the upcoming indoor and outdoor track and field season.
