University of Richmond Athletics

A Thanksgiving Message from John Hardt
11/22/2022 | General
Holiday greetings from Richmond!  On behalf of Spider Athletics, best wishes to you and your family for a safe, healthy, and happy Thanksgiving!
Â
As we conclude our fall sports seasons and begin winter sports competition, we certainly have a lot for which to be thankful!   First and foremost, I am extremely thankful to be leading a department that is comprised of some of the most dedicated and hardest working coaches, staff members and student-athletes in the country. I'm also thankful to have Spider football back in the FCS Playoffs, and I'm grateful that our fans, friends, and family will have the chance to see the Spiders play in the postseason Saturday at Robins Stadium. I continue to be impressed by the extraordinary accomplishments of our Spider student-athletes, both on and off the field. Â
Â
In addition, please know that our Spider coaches and athletics staff members are truly thankful for all of the support that our community provides our programs, and we are committed to providing Richmond's student-athletes with the best competitive opportunities and experiences in all of Division I. After all, providing successful opportunities to Richmond students is the focus of our mission, and our great University continues to be counted among the nation's elite in supporting and producing successful scholar-athletes.Â
Â
Also, as we prepare to celebrate the holiday with family and friends, please join me in a moment of reflection for all of those loved ones that we have lost this past year. We were blessed to have them as part of our lives and they will never be forgotten as we hold them in our hearts!
Â
Again, thank you for your support, and on behalf of our entire Department of Athletics, please enjoy a safe and happy holiday season!
Â
Take care, and... Go Spiders!
